Series of Free Public Events

Lt.-Gov. Anita R. Neville invites Manitobans to attend the next presentation of a series of free public events designed to welcome Manitobans into Government House and showcase outstanding and inspiring Manitobans who, through words and deeds, continually work to make the province better for all.

What makes Manitoba’s political culture unique? The Keystone Province: Politics and Governance in Manitoba is a new collection that presents a comprehensive and engaging analysis of Manitoba’s governments from Louis Riel to Wab Kinew. The book’s co-editors, Kelly Saunders and Christopher Adams, professors in political science at Brandon University and the University of Manitoba, respectively, will discuss how the book was first developed and how it addresses the need for an up-to-date understanding of politics in Manitoba. Together in one volume, the many original essays written by scholars across the province show how our leaders, parties, institutions, economy, and history are driving forces in today’s provincial politics.

The event will be held on Tuesday, October 14, at Government House. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Program begins at 7 p.m. Parking is available on both sides of the Government House driveway – light refreshments to follow.

Those wishing to attend must register in advance with the Office of the Lieutenant-Governor by calling 204-945-2753. Guests may reserve a maximum of two seats per registration.
