Next Presentation in the Lieutenant-Governor’s Evenings at Government House
Series of Free Public Events
Lt.-Gov. Anita Neville invites Manitobans to an inspiring edition of Evenings at Government House featuring award-winning local educator Kelly Hiebert, founder of the Holocaust Memorial Sites Study Tours for Educators.
This past summer, Hiebert led Manitoba’s first Holocaust Memorial Sites Study Tour for Educators, a professional development initiative designed to strengthen Holocaust education in Canada. Drawing on insights from the tour, he will explore how experiential learning at sites of memory helps educators engage deeply and responsibly with Holocaust history while fostering a greater understanding of the consequences of unchecked hate and antisemitism. Through stories and reflections from the journey, Hiebert will discuss the importance of helping students think critically, recognize misinformation, and champion universal human rights.
The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Government House. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., program begins at 7 p.m. Parking is available on both sides of the Government House driveway. Light refreshments to follow.
