- Arrived in Flin Flon in 1935 and found employment with Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting as a labourer, miner, and surveyor before moving to the company’s purchasing deparment.
- One of the organizers of the first union in Flin Flon, preceding the United Steelworkers of America.
- Member of the Manitoba Legislature 1949-59.
- Minister of Industry and Commerce 1956-58.
- Unsuccessfully contested federal election of 1962.
- Member of Flin Flon Council 1966-76 and Mayor of Flin Flon 1974-76.
- Founding President of the Flin Flon Trout Festival.
