Next Presentation in the Lieutenant-Governor’s Evenings at Government House

With the 2026 edition of Culture Days Manitoba just around the corner, Lt.-Gov. Anita Neville invites Manitobans to a presentation by Brendan McKeen, incoming chair of Culture Days Manitoba and a respected champion of the performing arts across the province.
Join us as we explore the extraordinary power of the arts, a force that lies at the heart of Winnipeg’s renowned cultural landscape. More than entertainment, the arts shape how we see ourselves, our communities and the world around us. They enrich our well-being, strengthen connections, and help fuel the energy and vitality that make downtown Winnipeg such a dynamic place to live, work and gather.
In a city celebrated for its diversity and creativity, the arts invite us to experience stories and perspectives beyond our own. They spark imagination, deepen empathy, challenge assumptions and inspire meaningful dialogue. At a time when our world is evolving at an unprecedented pace, the arts are not simply a reflection of society; they are a catalyst for progress, innovation and understanding.
We are delighted to conclude the presentation with a special performance by artists from Manitoba Underground Opera.
The event will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Government House. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., program begins at 7 p.m. Parking is available on both sides of the Government House driveway. Light refreshments to follow.
Those wishing to attend must register in advance with the Office of the Lieutenant-Governor by calling 204-945-2753. Guests may reserve a maximum of two seats per registration. Please note that hats, large bags and backpacks will not be permitted. Registration is now open. Seating is limited. There is no cost to attend.
